Good Try

Out of a row of corn about 4 feet long, only 2 seeds sprouted.  Out of those 2 stalks, we got 2 ears of corn, 1 on each stalk.  Out of the 2 ears of corn, 0 were edible.  We knew it was ready but we put off picking and eating it until too late.  By the time we got to it, it was overripe and felt like glue in our mouths.  I knew it after the first bite, but I was stubborn and thought I could eat it anyway.  Two bites was all it took to know it wasn't happening.  Better luck next year.

  1. Bummer. We are about to harvest our field on campus for the second time. Let me know if you will make it to St. Paul in the next couple of days and I will save you as many as you like.
