Sundance Make-up Bag

This little F.O. was a birthday gift for Jerri.

The pattern is called Sundance Make-up Bag and was published by Classic Elite Yarns in their web letter. I used Araucania Nature Wool Chunky yarn, so it turned out a bit bigger than the pattern dimensions.

The button is a vintage one that I think was in a tin that my grandma gave to my mom and my mom gave to me. It is a little round, glass button with multi-colored stripes. I had to use a small button because the buttonhole created by the pattern turned out tiny. I think I was too cocky and didn't read the instructions thoroughly enough, so the tiny buttonhole is probably my fault.

I was in a rush when I took these photos and I didn't have much light. In real life, the yarn is a pretty, semi-solid purple. All in all, I liked the pattern and would definitely make it again playing with how it turns out in various gauges.

  1. Thanks so much again! It was a great gift and it's so fun to have a new handbag to try out. Yay! I liked learning more about the history of the bag.
